Reena Esmail

Composer

Desire

May 9, 2000 by

Information

I wrote Desire when I was 17 years old — it was one of the very first pieces I ever wrote. The recording below is me, playing it at my high school senior recital with clarinetist Helen Goode-Castro.

I don’t typically allow the score and parts out into the world for professional performances. I do have one exception to this rule though: if you’re a very young performer or composer, and you’re wondering how my work might have sounded/looked when I was your age, please get in touch. I’d be happy to share it with you.
