Program Notes

Having grown up Catholic, this prayer holds such a deep personal significance for me. I wrote simple setting for women’s chorus during a time in my life where I was trying to connect the threads between my history and my future — and looking for guidance and grace.

Áve Marī́a, grā́tiā plḗna,
Dóminus tḗcum.
Benedícta tū in muliḗribus,
et benedíctus frū́ctus véntris túī, Iḗsūs.
Sā́ncta Marī́a,
ṓrā prō nṓbīs peccātṓribus,
nunc et in hṓrā mórtis nóstrae. Āmēn.
